In an effort to meet the needs of our local schools, The Bayside Police Citizen-Youth Club have implemented Bike-Ed and School Sports Programs. Both these programs would make an exciting extension to any education curriculum. These programs use equipment and facilities that schools do not have room to provide.
School Sports Program
School Sport Program is an indoor activity that introduces the two exciting Olympic Sports of Trampoline and Gymnastics. As well as learning the basic skills of these sports, children will develop stregth, flexibility, balance, co-ordinations and selfconfidence whilst having fun.
The program involves the use of Olympic size trampolines, Double Mini Trampolies, Tumle Tramp and Trumble run. Uneven and Parallel Bars, Beams, Floor and Vault are also used. Each one hour lesson can be divided between Trampoline and Gymnastics and will be conducted by fully qualified coaches.
This Program is adjusted to suit children from years 1 to 12 and can handle sizes from 12 to 28 children. We also request that a teacher or parent accompany the students on the PCYC bus and the students obtain permission slips to attend the program.
Cost per session including transport and GST is $8.50 per student. Students are required to bring socks, shorts and a water bottle.
Please contact the Bayside PCYC for more information regarding bookings.

Bike Education
The Bike- Ed program is a program designed by the Queensland transport Department to provide Years 4-5 with practical road use skills. The principal instructor is accredited with the Transport Department and has 10 years experience in delivering the program to many of our local schools.
Besides the improvement in general riding skills and bicycles maintenance, the Bike-Ed course covers basic road rules, interesctions and traffic awareness. It concludes with both a written and practical riding assessment and a certificate is awarded to each child on completion.
The primary aim of the course is to keep our children safe by giving them the respect for the road which will no doubt make them better drivers of motor vehicles when they get to that stage of life.
The program consists of 6 one hours lessons. The students are transported to the Bayside PCYC, in our bus/s, for practical lesson on our bikes. All children are required to bring both a drink bottle and helmet.
6 one hours lessons + transport and GST is $40.00 per child.
